Project Partners
INTA
INTA and most particularly the Laboratory of Processes and Technology from the Metallic Materials Area has international recognized expertise in the design and development of coatings employing different techniques (slurries, electroplating, high velocity oxy-fuel, thermochemical treatments, laser…). The laboratory has also considerable experience in materials behavior exposed at high temperature with different aggressive gases as well as molten salts.
INTA has transferred its coating technology to two multinational companies. For the project, INTA provide know-how in the corresponding corrosion issues and coating development and also employ its testing facilities for molten salts and CO2 corrosion both at atmospheric and supercritical conditions to perform all the testing.
UCM
Besides, UCM has direct information on operating conditions of solar concentration plants, since it has been collaborating for many years with several companies in the energy sector.
UCM has extensive experience in the development of molten salts for heat storage including corrosion assessment caused by said salt systems and already holds patents in the field of dynamic testing molten salt facilities and corrosion monitoring systems, infrastructures that can be employed in the project.
Moreover, UCM has direct feedback regarding operation conditions in solar concentration plants since it has been collaborating with several companies in the energy sector for many years.
